Officially started my work out, again. Was finally able to get up and do something. Alarm was set to 0510. Had to just let that one go. I felt so tired. 0520 goes off… still letting it pass. 0530 I finally get up to check the weather to see if it is running weather. Of course it isn’t. I lay back down, 5 minutes pass an my sub conscience won’t let me sleep.
Trying hard to sleep, fighting with my sheet to get comfortable. The restlessness wins. up and at ‘em. “What to work on?” “Who said that? Was that my left Bicep? No! it was my …” “Aaaaaaaaaabdominals!”
So that is just what I did. My Aaaaaaabdominals.
Tried running this after noon. Well, I didn’t try, I succeeded, just not as far as I would have hoped. 6.5k in 30 minutes. Which is slow. We shall see what I do tomorrow.
I have decided that Mondays are going to be my day off. For 3 reasons; 1) Its Monday, 2) My running schedule gives me Monday off, 3) Its raining today.
Rain just suck everything I have in me. Totally passed out at like 1630 today. Didn’t help that the new commander had a mandatory Commanders Call at 0645. He is so dumb.WE already are up at 0630 three other days of the week, just for PT. This week he adds two extra days for us to get up and be at work by 0630. Some one is gona have to give him a swift kick in the pants.
Another reason I just thought of was; I don’t actually have any real work out plan written down for my Upper body (arms, chest, back) and my abs. Lets hope I can do that tomorrow at work. As for running, my shoes came in. Looking fine.
Update to my stats tomorrow.
The second day was a huge flop, well, yes and no. I did not get up early, I was a little late for PT and I had to spend close to $100. PT was boring and mundane; push ups, sit ups, and awkward indoor running not on a treadmill.
Work that day was, well, work. It was after work were it finally got exciting. I was pumped for a 15Km, holding a 5:30 pace per click. Starting out I felt like I was just kinda going through the motion, not feeling the pace. SLOW AS HELL. Well, when i finally reached the 1Km mark I was at a 4:30 pace. I tried slowing up with out loosing my stride, extremely difficult. It was kinda awkward running the first 3 Km. At 4 clicks, I hit the right pace and stride. Feeling good I was right at 4:55. Just into the first lap of the 6th Km, my foot cramped up. Sharp pains from the arch shooting up my calf. I tried to push throught, but after seeing my next two splits, it would just be better to rest it. 6Km = 5:15, 7km = 5:30, Terrible, and I can only assume it was going to get worse.
Well, this sort of thing happened a couple of months ago just before the USAFE Armed Forces in Europe Volleyball Championship. Verdict was that I needed new shoes. At first i didn’t under stand what shoes had to do with it, I have had and used these shoes for close to a year now. Still has rubber on the bottom and no holes around the toes… a still good pair of shoes. needless to say, I did not get another pair.
So my running routine is on hold till the new shoes come in. Hopefully by the start of next week so I can just pick up where I left off, the beginning. So in lieu of running, Abs popped into my head to help pass resting arms/chest/back day. So in this work out i have all the key elements. Now if only I could work the pool in somewhere. Damn, I’d be one sexy beast. even after a few days of just eating healthy, I feel thinner. Only time will tell.
It seems the last couple post have been boring. I have finally figured out what I can use this for. This is the first attempt at using this Blog as a notebook for my work outs. I’m sure that if I write down what I do each day I am more likely to actually go out and do it again the next day.
Yesterday, 16 August 2010, was day one for both work outs. I am double dipping into my energy. Training for a Marathon and just weight training. There was no running scheduled for the first day, so there was no need for me to get up at 0400. Through out the day I have tried to adjust certain things to make it easier to be healthy all around; at least 3 liters of water a day, more fiber to keep me full longer, potassium to keep me strong and no more eating out which keeps my bank roll happy.
I was unprepared for that afternoon’s upper body weight training. Tempted to go to the gym and lift actual weights or sit in my room and do calisthenics. Since being in Germany I haven’t found a suitable weight lifting partner. Everyone that actually uses the tiny gym here is either roided-up or a twig. Personally, I fit in neither category, there for I don’t use the gym. Thinking all this ahead of time, I purchased resistance bands.
With the bands, I was able to emulate every exercise that I would usually do with weights. Some to include Bicep Curls, Lat Pull Downs, and Butterflies. Attempting to work on every muscle group and thinking of exercises as I went along, some things were missed. Biceps and deltoids felt if they needed more attention, while others were spoiled. I was able to do a total of 200 Push ups over 6 sets, with the last set push till exhaustion.
Last night the plan was to go to bed early (2100) so I would be able to wake at dawn and run with the rising sun. Alas, such a wish was impossible with the rain. This morning was suppose to be a 15Km run at 0430 but along with rain and sleep deprivation i forgot that at 0700 I still had to attend mandatory Squadron PT. Through out the night I dream’t the my alarm went o several times, eager to get up and run, I fell for it. check my clock periodically throughout the night thinking it was time to run, it read 2230, 0015, 0145, 0330. When the alarm in reality went off, I did not awake. So at 0550 when I did wake up I decided to start writing this and wait for 0700.
The plan is to run this after noon. Not sure before or after I do a leg work out. Perhaps I’ll skip the leg work out for the run, or even start the day off with weight training and run in the afternoon. I’ll ask the 2:30 Marathoner that works in my office. Hopefully more to come.

^^ These are to be updated once a week. Going to try and update every Monday with new stats, lets hope those are not my only entries.
Seems like it has been a while since I last did this. Found some extra time today between sleeping of whatever muscle aches I still had. Everything here seems to be the same, yet o-so different. I don’t enjoy being at work lately. Every little thing some one does or does not do seems to bother me. I have no one to take to about it, cause she is on leave in the states. She should get back soon, but it seems she would be my best friend out here. I now work in the Material Control section of CE. Basically, if Home Depot had a display window of one of everything they had, customers would pick out what they wanted and how many, and I would have to go to the back to get it. I put parts on order if we do not have them in stock. Alas, when I first started I only worked for one week there, then was pulled back to Customer Service for the 2 week exercise. I am now back to MC for 2 weeks before I am pulled out again to work Customer Service.
Since I left Customer Service about 4 weeks ago, it seems that a SSgt and a SrA are incapable of pulling whatever weight i was pulling while in that section. Occasionally I look at all the files and job order that Customer Service is in charge of and they have gone to shit. Gah, just writing about it is getting me angsty.
Home. I have been away so long I don’t know if I can still call it Home. I have called this place, Germany, home for the past 8 months. Before that, I called my dorm rooms in Texas home. The only thing that is home-esk in Santa Ana is the people. Things, places, and people change. I get homesick every once and a while and just remember, try to go back to my high school days where it seemed like everything was so simple.
Can’t finish…
