It rhymes with tea
It’s the new year, and with it comes a post about the last one, and how I am going to live this one differently.
LAST YEAR
Last year was pretty crappy, but not as crappy as the year before that. I think most people agree there, but there are a few who have situations now that were way better off through 2008 (Jeff?).
I, of course, worked at Microcenter, a hive of total crap and stupid intricacies that are inherent to all manners of retail. While this job was far worse (or at least as bad but with the bonus of being fresh in my mind) than the one at CompUSA the winter prior, I followed it with working with Eagle Software, something resembling a family business, and got to work in a laid back environment doing something that I enjoy doing.
END OF LAST YEAR INTO THIS YEAR
My work at Eagle had the creation the Flash tour for Aeries (which you can now see on their site here: http://www.aeries.com/tour/) and in going each day let me spend more time awake and in a good sleeping schedule than I had been in for a long time. I’ve picked up a lot in savings, but spent some of it on getting most of my friends all onto one WOTLK server in WoW. I’ll get on that in a moment.
THIS YEAR
This year, I have resolved to stop drinking sodas, with a limitation that I can have one a week. Even with this rule in place, however, I have only had one soda since the year started. I have also resolved to lose at least thirty pounds, which is the main reason I started the other resolution. Mostly I’ve been drinking various teas, and I was gifted at Teavana set for Christmas that I haven’t used enough of yet.
Since I transferred and updated all of my friends accounts (Remy excluded) to one server, we’ve had a few fun sessions. Of immediate recent memory I have been farming to get enough gold to buy my Epic flying mount, something I’ve always wanted to achieve. I’ve actually been hunting Loque’Nahak, a rare tiger that many hunters wish to tame, for the purpose of selling the finding to a hunter named Wolfe for 6000 gold. I have found it TWICE, once fifteen minutes after the hunter logged, and another IMMEDIATELY as they disconnected from being AFK. As you might understand, I’m rather sad.
Life goes on. Next post will probably be about D&D with a new character drawing.
