Oh, what a day was had yesterday! I shall go over the events in perfect chronological order.
Much to my surprise, I did manage to find a copy of Sonic Riders at Blockbuster, so I promptly rented it. It’s very cool, when all is said and done. Pretty fast, especially when you’re riding someone’s turbulence (which is a fantastic idea by the way). It’s got a bit of a learning curve when it comes to the controls so don’t expect to be busting out mad trickz and grinding rails right away. Takes some doing. Also, the story mode is damn hard. Been stuck on this one race for a while now. I just can’t catch up to Sonic, which is how it should be, but still. Frustrating. Anyways, it gets a thumbs up from me. Might purchase it later on down the road if I’m so inclined.
So late last night I get a call from Davey informing me that him, his girlfriend, and Joon are en route to my house. Way to give some notice, fucker. I threw on some clothes and it was decided that we were going to hit up some go-karts somewhere. Unfortunately, we got lost along the way and it was my understanding that we had to be there by a certain time or we’d be out of luck, and that time was up. So we went to go see a movie. After stopping to get some food at Of The Taco, that is. We got to the theater and nothing there look particularly interesting, but we were getting in free thanks to the Joon so Date Movie was selected. Some time needed to be killed before the movie was ready, so we headed over to the Barnes + Noble to hang around. It was soon revealed that Davey’s girlfriend had to return home because she had some stuff to do today that required her to get some sleep or something, so we got her safely home and dashed back to the theater just in time to catch the movie.
The movie? Meh. It was pretty stupid, if you couldn’t tell by the previews/advertisements. There were a couple chuckle-inducing parts, but nothing really stood out. But free is free, so no complaints here.
For some reason, after the movie Davey and Joon felt like getting something to drink so we headed on down to the local Denny’s and somehow we decided to order some desert with our drinks. That was pretty backwards. We consumed, and it was good, and the night was over. Good fun all in all, but give a man some notice next time, okay? I probably won’t even go if you pull this crap again.
Should have some new music up for your listening displeasure soon.
