Despite actually having some things to talk about, my resolve to sit down and write (or type, as it were) has been steadily waning. Yet here I am, steadily typing this new entry, for you, for all let’s say 4 of you, and you damn well better appreciate it.

I am quite happy to be involved in D&D again. I hear a lot of rumblings around the internets about the 4th editions shortcomings, and while I share some of those views (potions just enhance healing surges, WTF?) I will say I am simply having too much fun to care. My last experience with D&D was 2nd edition so I was well overdue to return. It has been such a glorious return. I like my character and I love my class. I’ve always digged support roles, and the warlord is so up my alley that it has built a house there where it lives year-round. Bitches love having me around so it’s all gravy. Plus this gives me an excuse to visit my friends on a weekly basis which is fantastic. Seriously, you guys are awesome.

Ninja Gaiden 2 was bought and then subsequently conquered. Well, not so much conquered as it had me pinned to the ground beating me in the face, then I cried out “Uncle!” and it turned it’s back on me, secure in its victory when I promptly kicked it in the balls and declared myself the winner. Yes it’s that hard. And this was on “normal.” I dare not set foot into the more difficult modes. I have seen men, strong, brave men go hurtling into the depths of Mentor (or “hard”) mode and they were never heard from again. And I hear the last boss of Master Ninja mode is Satan himself who pushes a clawed, groping appendage through your screen and pulls you into the digital hellscape you purchased with money. There’s a Youtube video of it somewhere.

Father’s Day has always been a weird thing for me. I mean, it’s really just another Sunday, although it is a day of reflection in some ways. It is hard for me to remember things clearly about him. I suppose this is just time taking its inevitable toll on the mind but it does worry me. At the very least, I do remember the good times, when mom would go to visit my grandmother (in the very house I sit in now) and he and I would go to McDonald’s then play Ivan “Ironman” Stewart’s Off-Road Racing for the NES. Goddamn that game was fun. I do miss the man.

New music should be up for all y’all. Part of Rock Band’s awesomeness is that it exposes me to bands I’ve never heard of which are totally awesome. So do enjoy The Myriad and Maximo Park, won’t you? ENJOY.
